You're eligible to participate in the CenterPoint Energy Savings Plan.

Since saving for retirement is important, CenterPoint Energy will automatically enroll you in the Savings Plan at a 6% pre-tax savings rate after 30 days of employment.

You don’t have to wait for automatic enrollment, you can start saving today!

The CenterPoint Energy Savings Plan is a valuable benefit designed to help support your retirement savings strategy. This guide provides highlights of the Savings Plan for those new to saving as well as experienced investors.

The CenterPoint Energy Savings Plan offers great benefits, including:

  • Pre-tax savings – you pay less in taxes today.
  • Roth savings – you pay taxes today, but not in retirement.*
  • Company matching contribution – it’s like extra money that helps your account grow.
  • Tax-deferred investing – your savings grow without being taxed.
  • A choice of investments – so you can create a portfolio that’s right for you.
  • Loans and withdrawals – should you need your savings before retirement.
  • 24/7 account access – through the Internet or by phone.

* For Roth contributions and earnings to be eligible for tax-free withdrawals, your initial Roth deposit must have been in your account for at least five years and you must be at least age 59½ (or in the event of your disability or death).

To get enrolled today, simply go to cnpsavings.voya.com

Use your Social Security number as your User Name and Voya-issued Personal Identification Number (PIN), which will be mailed to you in a small security mailer. (If you have not received your PIN, select "Social Security Number + Date of Birth". This process will allow you to register by answering a few security questions.)

  • Change your password
  • Choose how much you want to save
  • Choose how you want to invest your contributions
  • Choose a beneficiary for your account
  • Rollover money from your previous employer’s Plan into your new Plan
  • Confirm your choices and submit.

That‘s it! You'll receive a confirmation email of your enrollment, and contributions typically begin within one to two pay periods. You will also receive an email notification when your quarterly statement is available on-line. If you prefer to use the phone, simply call 713‑207‑7373 or 800‑932‑7444.
